official reports.Notes by a Naturalist (1892). By H.N. Moseley. This is another narrative of the voyage written by one of the scientific staff embarked on the Expedition. It includes much information about the islands visited on the cruise. The Depths of the Ocean (1912). By Sir John Murray and Dr. Johan Hjort. This is a "state of the art" summary of oceanography as seen by John Murray, who was a member of the H.M.S. Challenger Expedition and succeeded C. Wyville Thomson as the general editor of the Challenger Reports. This book also includes an account of the scientific research expeditions of the Norwegian Steamer, Michael Sars in the North Atlantic. |
